HongKong
Transport from airport to central business district
Private taxis will come to approximately HK$130 (passengers pay round-trip tunnel fare
of 2 x $10) which is added to the meter. Airbuses also operate on a regular basis.
There is, at present, no MTR connection between the airport and town. Warning: many
taxi drivers do not speak English; name your destination before loading your luggage
so you can change taxis if necessary.
Tipping
A 10 percent service charge is added to most restaurant and hotel bills, but waiters
expect tips of an additional 5 to 10%. Taxi drivers expect you to round the fare up to
the nearest HK$5.
Banking hours
Most banks are open 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday.
Business Dress
Hong Kong is a very formal business city. Men are expected to wear long-sleeved
business shirts, jackets and ties; women wear tailored suits and pantyhose year-round.
