Transport from airport to central business district
Taxis cost about A$18. The Air Express Bus is an alternative which costs A$4 and
departs every 20 minutes.
Tipping
Tipping is not widely practiced but it is usual to tip hotel porters 50 cents per bag
and 10 percent at more expensive restaurants. Taxi drivers do not expect tips but are
often given the small change.
Banking hours
Banks are open from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 9:30 am to
5:00 pm on Friday.

- Local handicrafts can be purchased at any number of craftsman's street fairs held
year-round throughout the city. Check your local tourist newspaper or enquire at the
front desk of your hotel.
- The Rocks, northern end of George Street, Sydney's main street
- The Rocks Market (weekends only), a covered bazaar selling everything
from hand-carved petrified wood salad bowls to dried flower arrangements
- Darling Harbour
