Tokyo
Transport from airport to central business district
Narita Airport is 60 km from downtown Tokyo. The easiest way is the Narita Express
which makes 23 trips a day. Cost is 2,890 yen. A convenient alternative is the
Limousine Bus service from downtown Tokyo City Air Terminal (TCAT). Taxis are very
expensive, over 20,000 yen.
Tipping
Tipping is uncommon and considered impolite by many Japanese. Hotels levy a 10 - 20
percent service charge. Rental car drivers should be tipped discreetly; porters charge
a fixed rate of between 200 - 300 yen.
Banking hours
Banks are open 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday.
Business Dress
Conservative Western-style suits for men and two-piece suits for women are necessary
for business and social events; women wear pantyhose year-round.
